Fall Musical

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

  • Conceived by Rebecca Feldman
  • Music and lyrics by William Finn
  • Book by Rachel Sheinkin
  • Additional material by Jay Reiss

Six kids face off in the battle of their lives. The competition is intense. The words are outrageous. Let the spelling (and the singing) begin!

This Tony Award-winning musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, tells the hilarious, yet heartwarming, story of a group of six anxiety-ridden, overachieving adolescents in the throes of puberty vying for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime. The children are overseen by a gathering of adults who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. During the Bee, the colorful contestants learn that winning isn't everything, and losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
