Now Playing - Sister Act

Sister Act is Broadway's musical comedy smash that will make you jump for joy! When wannabe disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. Featuring original music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Newsies), this uplifting musical is filled with toe-tapping songs, outrageous show-stopping dancing and a truly moving story. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is reason to rejoice!

Duets Plawrights Wanted

Night of 1000 Plays

HP&P is looking for short playwrights – of any height!

Are you a playwright, or sketch writer?... Or, do you dream of being one; and seeing your work produced on a stage that’s not in your basement?... Here’s your chance! Haddonfield Plays & Players is now accepting original short play submissions for its June production of “Night of 1,000 Plays!”

Many area theater folks will fondly recall Philadelphia’s Brick Playhouse on South Street, and its annual short play festival, “Night of 1,000 Plays;” an evening of 20+ very short pieces of mostly five minutes or less in length. Well, with full tribute and homage to The Brick, HP&P is reviving this annual tradition, featuring dozens of local writers, directors and actors – coming together for a fun-filled evening of organized chaos!

The call for directors and actors will come later; but at this point we are looking for writers to submit their pieces for consideration. Plays should be around 5 minutes; although a couple of longer pieces may be considered (10 minutes – max!) Any genre is welcome; but the length tends to best lend itself to comedy. Writers may submit as many pieces as they like! For more information or to submit, please email Nightof1000Plays@haddonfieldplayers.com. Submissions will be accepted through Tax Day, April 15 -- easy to remember!

Submit early, and often!
